The first race was lead from the start by Matt and Sophie Shepherd but as the wind died Deborah Love and Tom Lancaster caught up and briefly passed Matt. There then followed a match race between Deborah and Matt which Matt won on a shortened course. A close race between Ray Woods crewed by Charlie Berry and Nick Whelan crewed by son Tom ended in Nick sneaking 3rd place.

The start of the second race was delayed by a downpour but eventually started in rare sunshine but little wind. The first beat was livened up by James Prestwich (crewed by Emily Whelan) capsizing in nil wind whilst attempting to free up soggy tell-tails. Matt again lead closely pursued by a posse of Budworth fireflys and Alistair Macauly (crewed by father Keith) from South Staffs. Places changed frequently behind the leader in an exciting race ending with Matt first, Alistair 2nd and Debbie 3rd.

The third race was sailed in very little wind but never quite became a drifting match. Matt again lead followed closely by Ray, Alistair and Debbie. At the last mark Debbie and Ray sneaked through with Debbie winning, Ray second and Matt third.
