Waldringfield SC Easter Egg 2011

Eight Fireflies joined the fleet of nearly 100 dinghies (Larks, Lasers, Cadets, OKs, 12s, Wayfarers) for a very enjoyable couple of days racing on the Deben, in beautiful, sunny weather.
Although racing was postponed on both days, due to lack of wind, the race officer was able to put on two races each afternoon once the sea breeze filled in.
The figure of eight courses, congested racing area and strong flood tide provided some interesting challenges.
Stuart & Amy won both races on the first day, while being hotly pursued by Alex & Belinda and Steve & his crew
Stuart & Amy finished first again in the third but were later found to be OCS. This proved to be critical, as, with only four races sailed, there was no discard.

Alex and Steve managed to get away in the fourth and, after a close tussle, Alex finished first. This was enough to give him first place overall.
