Dear Fireflies,
Just a quick hello from the new committee and especially Steve and Caroline as your chairmen! Hope you all enjoyed Felixstowe.
Firstly big thankyou to our outgoing committee members. Such a lot of work goes on behind the scenes to keep us sailing, allow events to run and keep you informed. Thank you – Mark Tait (technical sec), Roger Hudson (membership), will Mason (sails) and of course Chris Guy our chairman – maybe your family can have you back now!!!
We have lots of plans for the year which we will update you on in due course. Firstly what is coming to a Firefly near you soon……
Sept 4th – Chipstead open (secret practice for those of you wanting to get your hands on the Inlands Silver Firefly……..
Sept 10-11th – a bit of crazy river sailing just outside the M25 at Upper Thames with a wonderful evening dinner. Certain committee members big birthday so should be quite a party!!!!
Oct 22-23 – Spinnaker host this great event with 2 boat team racing on Sat and fleet racing on Sunday
Oct 29-30 – W Oxfordshire Open
Nov 5-6th – The final event of the year at Chipstead, concluding the Vines and M25 series as well as Inlands with a great trophy selection. The FF Winter posh dinner will be on the Saturday night at a nearby hotel with accommodation to make life easy. So get out the frocks and book those babysitters it should be quite a party. (And yes the date is right!!)
