Stuart and Robbie Hudson won the WOSC Open meeting on the 22nd October scoring 4 firsts and a second in the five race series with all races to count. They also clinched the Vines series with this win.
The tricky North easterly breeze and the short course racing produced very tight racing right through the fleet. Oli Burrows and Nicole Perris claimed second overall with some very consistent sailing only slipping out of the top three in the first race with a 4th place. They lead the fleet on a number of occassions but could never quite hold off the prowess of Stuart and Robbie.
The battle for third was settled in the last race on the finish line with James Nicoll and Joe Scarborough slipping past Guy Davison and Mike Radford at the end to claim 4th place in the race. Guy and Mike finishing 5th meant that Alex Baxter and James Bull’s win in the last race gave them the last podium place.
As usual there was a good turnout of Club boats (eight) but sadly visiting boat numbers were slightly down on the last two years with just four. The Open has provisionally been set for the 21st Oct next year so make a note and find your way to West Oxfordshire S.C. next time round.
