Undoubtedly one of the best Championship venues and exceptional hosts are guaranteed by Tenby SC this summer. Dates are 6 – 12th August, so Jim Bramley our organiser reminds us “please book accommodation early! Caravans, campsites and holiday lets will get snapped up by holiday hungry tourists as well as ardent Firefly sailors”.
Tenby has a beautiful harbour, a child friendly set of beaches, fantastic local foods and bars. The club is volunteer run and is always so friendly to our class, that’s why this is our 5th nationals being held here. If you haven’t yet experienced a Firefly Nationals or just a week of racing your boat amongst a fleet of 50 plus, or just racing on waves and open sea, this is the one! Prizes for all sorts of success of course, as well as for the winning student / institution Fireflies.
Sailing sec Guy Davison says: “This event is organised by the Class Association with our hosts Tenby SC. It is great value racing and social events, with bands and bar b q’s. The class has a great mix of genders about 50/50, and ages with many of the competitors from schools, colleges and universities. If you want great sailing, close races, great apres-sail socials all at reasonable cost then this is the friendliest event”.
