Fairey Marine records – 1st owner – Royal Artillery YC, c/o Colonel Ralph Blewitt, Boxsted Hall, Colchester – (Commodore, West Mersey YC), but Firefly despatched by rail to Edinburgh.
Suggestion later based c/o Group Capt Rotherham RAF at Suez Canal zone, and perhaps moved on to Cyprus when Canal Zone evacuated 1955.
Thought to have initially been fitted with alloy decks, due to shortages of timber after WW ll and perhaps later converted.
