Hull moulded October 1966, supplied as kit with Mark II decks, side benches and centre - plate case to Greshams School, Holt, Norfolk. Suggestion that when the kit was completed, the boat failed to measure, perhaps half an inch too wide on the beam and decks. Later corrected by a subsequent owner.

The story goes that the Firefly's name originated from the nickname of Gresham's Sailing Captain, Robert Brown, during the build of the boat
